Frontyard Landscape Design

Laura and Robb Harris envisioned a new front yard with no turf and attractive terrace walls to mitigate the slope from the front of their house to the street. The original landscape was largely turf and contained a narrow border bed against the house. An unattractive large ornamental tree competing for limited canopy space in this small front yard was removed allowing an existing street tree to gradually fill the public and private space. Both stained buff flagstone terrace walls and a dry stream bed were designed with care and filled with low water plants. The mix of varied bloom colors/ time, grasses and evergreens creates an entry that is interesting in all seasons.
